Upscale Boomer housing set to reach new heights

LOS ANGELES: A new Boomer high rise will feature a whisky and cigar room as well as free electric BMWs for owners.

The 37-floor Masthead Ocean Club is intended to be a Rolls-Royce of high-rises.

A 650 sqm floor will provide the owners of its 28 apartments with the use of a dine-in cucina chef‘s kitchen, a wine and champagne lounge, a library, private meeting spaces, and an espresso bar.

Each owner is to have a BMW electric car included in their buy.

Rory O’Brien, the Sydney businessman behind the Main Beach project, yesterday said the Masthead Ocean Club was intended to be the most exclusive residential tower in Australia.

“Our focus is to provide an in-house sanctuary in which to enjoy a drink or a meal, or just to simply relax in a serene environment with ocean and Broadwater views.”

Masthead Ocean Club, approved for an 812sq m site at the northern end of Main Beach Pde, is to have 25 whole-floor apartments, along with a two-level penthouse and two dual-floor sub-penthouses.

Its four floors of resident facilities will include a 24-hour health and wellness club with a heated wet-edge pool, marbled hot and cold plunge pools, spa, steam room and sauna.

Mr O’Brien said there also would be a state-of-the-art gymnasium and separate yoga and pilates studios.

“We want to ensure our amenities never are crowded and can be enjoyed by a small number of residents

“You can have extensive amenities and luxury, but the real key is for these amenities to be available to just a limited few – in our case, to just 28 residences.”

The developer said Masthead’s owners would gain membership of the Levantine Hill Chairman’s Club at Yarra Valley Winery in Victoria, invitations to Newgate Stud Farm racing events, and syndicated ownership of racehorses.

Mr O’Brien said prices had yet to be set for the Masthead apartments but a builder, GCB Construction, had been engaged and was expected to start work within months.
