Senior housing facility finally receives planning authorities approval

LOS ANGELES: A council has approved the zoning to allow for a mixed-use building with 58 units of senior apartments and commercial spaces.

A bylaw allowing for a mixed-use building in Princeton, including a seniors housing facility, has received adoption by council.

The bylaw allows for the Ochre Hills Senior Housing Proposal, at 82, 84, 88 and 87 Fenchurch Ave. and 195 Bridge St.

This facility will have a total of 58 units of senior apartments and 27 parking units. The apartment will include 41 one-bedroom, three two-bedroom and 11 studio units.

The land for the building is owned by the Princeton and District Community Services Society, which provides a range of services within the community.

The Princeton and District Community Services Society partnered with BC Housing for the development.

The Ochre Hills Senior Housing Proposal site is adjacent to Vermillion Court at 72 Fenchurch Ave. Vermillion Court is a two-storey apartment building with 17 subsidized independent living units for seniors and those with disabilities, and is also owned by the Princeton and District Community Services Society.
