New social and affordable housing development to support community
LOS ANGELES: New intergenerational social and affordable housing is designed to bind co-op communities.
Community housing provider St George Community Housing (SGCH) officially opened the new one- and two-bedroom dwellings that consist of 50 social dwellings, and one affordable housing unit. The new homes will provide women aged 55+ and individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness with safe and secure housing.
The new energy-efficient development features shared spaces to encourage tenants to come together as a community, whilst in a well-located area that is in close proximity to shopping centres, schools and transport.
Housing Australia has funded up to $23 million via the Affordable Housing Bond Aggregator (AHBA), alongside the NSW Government’s Social and Affordable Housing Fund (SAHF) Phase 2, to assist with the construction costs of the new development by SGCH.
