Luxury ‘ultra high-end’ apartments now been approved for foreshore

LOS ANGELES: A luxury ‘ultra high-end’ boomer apartments community has now been approved for a beach setting.

A new $70 million luxury housing tower has been approved on the foreshore of the Swan river in South Perth.

Developed by Blackburne, the company also responsible for ONE in Subiaco, East Village in Karrinyup and The Grove residences in Claremont, Eclipse South Perth offers “ultra high-end, boutique apartments”.

The Mill point road development has 55 dwellings across 17-storeys with purchase prices ranging from between $2million and $10 million.

Blackburne said the apartments are designed with generous proportions, open-plan layouts and premium finishes.

The building will home six one-bedroom, 12 two-bedroom, 36 three-bedroom and three four-bedroom apartments.

The ground floor will have 27 residential parking bays, one ACROD visitor bay and seven visitor bays, as well as informal seating and landscaping.

There will be an additional 98 residential parking bays across the mezzanine, levels one and two.

Level two will also include a kitchen, dining areas, gym, sauna, steam room, pool and an outdoor barbecue area.

Blackburne said the shared spaces encourage residents to “live well, entertain and enjoy the best of riverside living”.

Blackburne managing director Paul Blackburne said the vision for Eclipse was to create a boutique community where residents felt at home.

“This is Blackburne’s most generous collection to date. We wanted these homes to feel generous in size; big enough for people who are used to large houses, but with all the perks of apartment living,” said Paul Blackburne.

“With just 55 apartments, Blackburne’s signature resort-style amenities, and sweeping views of the river, CBD and beyond, the project is designed for people to connect, unwind and really enjoy the lifestyle South Perth has to offer,” he said.

The approval includes the demolition of the existing a three-storey building with 18 multiple dwellings, a communal swimming pool and associated facilities at the site.

At the WAPC meeting this morning, two deputations against the proposal were presented to the committee, one described the building as a “complete and utter eyesore” and shared concerns over increased volume of traffic.

The display suite will be completed this month and it is anticipated to officially launch to the public by the end of the year.

If the development is not substantially commenced within four years the approval will lapse.
