Best retirement housing design for Global Awards shortlisted

SINGAPORE: The shortlist for the best retirement housing design has been declared.

Over 250 designs have been considered by the awards secretariat. One of the finalists in this category is shown above.

Mt Michael Station owners Blair Wilce and Julianna Love have turned it into a luxury two-bedroom home built to withstand whatever the weather can throw at it. But they have ensured the woolshed retains plenty of its original character, from the weathered timber cladding to the upcycled rusty iron roofing. They have even retained copper spouting, salvaged hardwoods, and reused the original sheep doors.

And no expense has been spared on the interior fit-out by designers and local tradespeople.

The Global Award winner will be announced in November in London. (Globals)
