A ‘luxury’ development of eight waterfront homes in Townsville has been crowned Australia’s ‘boutique project of the year’ at the Urban Development Institute of Australia awards.
The achievement is a big win for the developer – the Townsville-based Maidment Group –
which has big waterfront ambitions.
The eight homes are only stage one of a large development the Maidment Group is planning for the marina.
Construction is soon to commence on stage two of the build, focused on a $65m nine-storey apartment complex housing 15 ‘high end’ apartments and three ‘ultra-luxury sky homes’
To date, 50 per cent of the apartments have already sold.
The builder for the apartment is listed as Hurst Constructions.
Maidment Group managing director Glen Maidment said having the stage one homes recognised on a national stage was an “incredibly proud moment”.
The Global Award winner will be announced in December in London. (Globals)
