Best nursing home designs for Global Awards shortlisted

LOS ANGELES: The shortlist for the best affordable housing design has been declared.

Over 250 designs have been considered by the awards secretariat. One of the finalists in this category is shown above.

Palomar Health’s The Villas at Poway has received a “Best Nursing Home” rating from U.S. News & World Report — a designation only 16% of nursing homes nationwide achieve, officials said.

“The Villas has received the ‘Best Nursing Home’ designation for multiple years now, both for our short-term care and long-
term care,” said Virginia Barragan, vice president of Palomar Health.

The Villas has received a five-star quality rating from Medicare for the past five years, Barragan said.

“It just really goes to show how highly sought after our care is,” she said. “We are the place where the doctors and the employees have their own family members. They know the care we provide at the Villas is at the same level as the hospital.”

The Global Award winner will be announced in April in London. (Globals)
