Best affordable seniors housing design for Global Awards shortlisted
MELBOURNE: The shortlist for the best affordable seniors housing design has been declared.
Over 250 designs have been considered by the awards secretariat. One of the finalists in this category is shown above.
Not For Profit Leigh Place Aged Care has lodged a development application with Canterbury-Bankstown City Council to demolish four single storey cottages to build the units.
The plan includes:
Ground level: two one-bedroom and five two-bedroom units and a community room.
First and second levels: two one-bedroom and six two-bedroom units.
The development will allow people who live in the apartments to relocate onsite within the aged care facility, the 68-bed Leigh Place Aged Care, if required, the application states.
The Global Award winner will be announced in November in London. (Globals)
