Plan revealed for 1000 multigenerational apartments in three towers

MELBOURNE: A plan has now been revealed for 1000 new multigenerational apartments over three towers.

A suburb in Sydney’s south west could soon see more than 1000 apartments move in across three high-rise futuristic towers close to the new airport.

Private developer duo George and Anthony Mourched, from Amourched and Mourched, has lodged an application to the NSW Planning Portal to construct a mixed-use building at 297 Bringelly Rd, Leppington.

A scoping report outlines the plan to build three towers ranging from 15- to 22-storeys tall hosuing 1015 apartments.

In addition to the apartments, the proposal includes plans to build basement parking and 20,000sq m of space set aside for commercial use.

The site will also have a childcare centre for 250 children if approved, along with another development next door at 307 Bringelly Rd.

This proposal is just one of many development applications for the Leppington area, after its town centre was identified by the state government as a strategic centre.

“Over 10,500 new homes over the next 20 years and capacity for more than 30,000 homes in the longer term,” the report states.

“Over 11,000 jobs and services for people living in the centre and surrounding district growth area between the Western Sydney Parklands and the Aerotropolis.

“New public open spaces including town squares north and south of the rail station, green corridors and local parks.

“A new high school, new selective high school, new primary school, and expansion of Leppington Primary School.

The proposed development is still in the very early stages as it waits for an environmental-impact statement report to be completed.
