LOS ANGELES: The shortlist for the best social housing community design has been declared.
Over 250 designs have been considered by the awards secretariat. One of the finalists in this category is shown above.
The Minister for Social and Affordable Accommodation, Roderick Galdes, visited a new social housing project in Mellieħa on Monday, his ministry said in a statement.
The project will provide eight modern residential units, with two apartments on each floor, specifically designed to offer comfortable and accessible living spaces.
This project forms part of a series of investments being carried out by the Housing Authority in collaboration with Housing Projects Solutions Ltd (HPS). The total investment for this project amounts to approximately €850,000, reflecting a clear commitment to creating modern and sustainable residences within the Mellieħa community, the ministry said.
Minister Roderick Galdes stated that this is one of several projects being implemented across the country to ensure that communities benefit from modern, accessible, and affordable housing, while the Government continues to strengthen its work in favour of social inclusion and the well-being of the population.
“This project in Mellieħa clearly demonstrates our commitment to continuing to provide safe and quality housing for Maltese and Gozitan families. We are committed to continuing to invest in accommodation that respects people’s dignity and provides stability for families,” concluded Minister Galdes.
The Global Award winner will be announced in December in London. (Globals)
