Green light for beach front twin tower retirement community
LOS ANGELES: A giant 13-storey twin tower retirement community has been given the green light by council. Construction of the Odyssey towers at Hope Island will now move forward, with 188 units spread across the buildings
Odyssey CEO Phil Usher said the complex would be the company’s third project, following its existing Robina development and its under-construction Chevron Island tower.
“We’re creating communities where seniors don’t need to compromise, and this builds on what Odyssey has always set out to do, which is to create a brighter future for ageing Australians,” he said.
“There will be numerous features that will generate excitement and given this location has strong connections to the golfing lifestyle, we’ve incorporated several elements we believe people will be very pleased about.
“For local retirees already enjoying life in luxury retirement villages, it will be reassuring to know that when the next stage of life arrives, Odyssey will be there to provide the kind of care and support that respects their lifestyle and preferences.”
The towers will be built on a 4639 sqm site on Marina Quays Boulevard.
It will have a mixture of units, ranging from one to three-bedrooms, with a handful of penthouses.
Mr Usher said it would have a range of amenities.
“The community will include an on-site putting green with both open-air and covered sections, a virtual driving range and a 19th hole lounge for residents to enjoy afterwards,” he said.
“For us, it’s about creating communities where older Australians can feel at ease, stay connected and enjoy every stage of later life with confidence.
“Hope Island Odyssey will include a dedicated wellness hub with an on-site doctor surgery for when life takes difficult turns, a hairdresser, a luxurious lobby with reception and concierge services available seven days a week, extensive gardens and much more.”
