Best retirement housing design for Global Awards shortlisted
LOS ANGELES: The shortlist for the best retirement housing design has been declared.
Over 250 designs have been considered by the awards secretariat. One of the finalists in this category is shown above.
Revised plans for the second phase of a mixed-use development at Maylands Park in Nantwich have been lodged. The scheme includes housing, a retirement living community and public open space.
Muller Property Group secured planning permission for phase two of the development earlier this year, but the plans underwent a re-evaluation based on input from the local community.
The amended proposals address key concerns related to vehicle movements, pollution, and the integration of employment uses with nearby residential areas and public spaces.
The scheme will incude 40 homes, 30 per cent of which will be affordable, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to four-bedroom family homes.
A retirement living community is also included with 49 bedrooms and a care home with 80 beds.
The Global Award winner will be announced in December in London. (Globals)
